Nanny McPhee

July 18, 2007

Like a fugly Mary Poppins that tries to get children to obey through bizarre punishments. Maybe because it was adapted from a book or something, the pacing was all off and it wasn’t clear whether we should be focusing on the father’s problems getting over his wife or the children’s problems with discipline. The plot made no sense, since you’d figure a man with a full-time job could have probably supported his own children if maybe he moved out of his Victorian castle and maybe not relied so much on servants. The end where the old man marries this young girl just kinda made me throw up in my mouth a little. Yeah kids, marriages of convenience are cool!
